Vyborg is also known as Viipuri and is the administrative center of Vyborg district. The town is located on Karelian Isthmus near the Vyborg bay. The town has picturesque views of Finnish buildings and cobblestone streets.
Vyborg has a railway station which was built in 1913 but was destroyed in World War 2 and was rebuilt during soviet rule.
It lies on the boundary zone of East Slavic Russia. The town has a history related to World War 2; it was first captured by Swedes in 1710. Vyborg has changed hands during the past in 1944 and it was also taken by Soviet Union from Finland during World War 2.
