Also known as Oneloa Beach, one can enjoy activities such as bodyboarding, swimming, snorkelling, shore fishing, picnicking and sunbathing at this beach. While the Big Beach is 1.5 miles long, the state park is also home to the ‘Little Beach’ which is around 660 feet long! Also known as Pu’u Olai Beach, a small hike is required to reach it.

  • Absolutely gorgeous. Long white sand beach with plenty spots to cruise and kick back. always making it a place of happening

  • Gorgeous white sand beach This is a stretch of the most beautiful beaches. The parking is plenty at the public beach. There is no restroom access but rather a port-a-potty. If you are adventurous, hike a few steps north and you will be rewarded with more beaches. Then that goes on for a couple more. So it is nice to walk around. The water is not as choppy as what’s up north or at the southern tip of the island. Although strong waves are possible. There is not much shade so bring your travel umbrella if you would like a shade. Happy travels.

  • Just as everybody else suggested, this is indeed a gorgeous beach. However, even on an average calm day, the waves crash down very hard here. This was at the end of August. Unless you plan on not doing any swimming, it is definitely NOT recommended for families with young children. I talked to the life guards on duty and they told me that this is the beach with the highest rate of neck and head injuries in the whole state of Hawaii. I don’t want my kids to be paralyzed for the rest of their life. Be warned, enough said...

  • We felt this was the best beach of our entire vacation. We didn't have plans to go here until the last minute. We ended up staying all day and wished we had gone to this beach the first day so we would have known to go back. Great sand, super clear water, lots of fish deeper out, and even turtles. Nice steep entrance into water so you can get a little wave from the surf without going very far from the dry sand. The last part was important for the kids who wanted to play in the surf, but could easily be rescued because they were just feet from the dry sand. I am planning my next trip to this island with the idea of going back for this beach.

  • Great beach just the other side of Wailea.
