Falls Lake State Recreation Area Reviews & Ratings

  • Such a peaceful place. There is plenty of parking, a changing house, a play ground, and a covered eating area. This is a perfect place to take some little ones and not feel like you need them tied to a leash. My only negative is that, depending on time of year and day of week, it does cost to get in. Well worth it!

  • Highly recommend Holly Point for RV and "car-trunk camping". An Army Corps of Engineers lake so no houses or development to be seen! Seek out waterfront sites on Loop 2 and Loop 4. There are "duplex sites" for larger groups. Bring hammocks, fishing poles and rafts. Watch for ospreys, bald eagles, herons, deer, and other wildlife. There is a grill grate built into each fire ring.

  • Beautiful natural areas, both forested and on the lakefront. Great facilities for both daytime activities (picnic shelters, etc) and overnight events (campgrounds). Our group of 30 or so brought several tents and hammocks, and were able to spread comfortably far from each other without intruding on others' space. No complaints!

  • I live at the beach. So to come to a place where the water is nice and still is really relaxing. I loved it because the company I had with me was great. Nice place to grill and soak ur feet. And saw a lot of people using jet skis. That was nice.

  • Surprised to find this swim beach, boat launch, hiking trails, and small playground all in one spot. I am not sure if there is a regular admission fee as we drove past the closed booth at the entrance. However, we had a nice evening visit and enjoyed the park and its amenities. We will be back with canoes and to walk the dogs soon!
