The Buchberger Leite is a river gorge west of Freyung in the Bavarian Forest. In the geotope, Sauss creek and Resch creek unite to the WolfsteinerOhe, which has buried itself up to 100 metres deep into the dark pile slate rock of the landscape. This place is very popular among tourists because of the numerous hiking trails winding through the river gorge. One of the interesting things that you can find here is a tunnel which dates back to the time of the First World War. That’s one place a person with an inquisitive mind should definitely not miss. There is also a suspension bridge over the white waters of the river from which the view is breath-taking. There is a chance of river rafting on the white waters of the river as well. Something that is sure to give you an adrenaline rush.
