Walla Walla is a small city in Walla Walla County, Washington. It was founded in 1806, and the city covers a total area of 12.84 square miles (according to the United States Census Bureau) and experiences a hot summer Mediterranean climate. Being the county seat and the largest city in Walla Walla County, the total population of the place was around 34,000 (as of the 2020 census). Regarding Walla Walla's economy, the city depends on numerous industries to create jobs and income, such as agriculture, wine, corrections (prisons), healthcare, transportation, tourism, and festivals. The city is also well connected through multiple state routes, highways, and air (via the Walla Walla Regional Airport). Regarding education, the area is primarily served by Walla Walla Public Schools, which include one high school, seven elementary schools, and two middle schools. In addition, three colleges are located in the city: Walla Walla Community College, Walla Walla University, and Whitman College.
