This street, completely destroyed in the Warsaw uprising, will never again regain its pre war art-noveu glory. That said, it’s still pretty impressive. It comprises part of the Royal Way and has been a historically important commercial street for Warsaw for centuries. It has pretty much every important shopping brand you can think of. It’s also the place to find some good food.

Bars, Restaurants and Cafes line the thoroughfare. Make sure to visit the Church of the Holy Cross here, which is the keeper of Chopin’s heart. In summers the street bustles with the most stylish of shoppers and in winter it enchants with the magic of Christmas. The tourist souvenir shops are worthwhile and you should definitely try the ice cream. The eclectic mix of architecture, establishment and crowds make it great place for people watching.
