Das Ethiopian Cuisine Reviews & Ratings
The food was excellent and the ambience was nice. Like Thai restaurants, I don't know that I've ever been to a bad Ethiopian restaurant. Definitely one of the better ones. Save room for dessert!
I came here with my family for dinner on a Saturday night. I love Ethiopian food and I was excited for my parents to try it since it was their first time. It was my first time at this particular place. It's an old house converted to a restaurant, which is a hallmark of a D.C. restaurant. It was quite cramped, but it added to the cozy feel of the restaurant. The service was a bit slow, so we ruined our appetites quite a bit by nibbling on injeras. But I had no complaints otherwise. I ordered 2 vegetarian platters to share with my parents, and the quantity sufficed. I was slightly disappointed that were not enough items on the platter and the taste. I have had way more items on the platter in other Ethiopian restaurants. For me, the food was slightly underwhelming on the taste. My brother and my husband, however, loved their chicken dishes. Perhaps their meat-based dishes are better, so it's definitely worth checking out.
If you like Ethiopian food it is the perfect place for you. Personally I find it hard to call it tastey for a western tongue. The atmosphere is outstanding though, and prices are fair.
First time eating Ethiopian and it was amazing. The atmosphere is elegant and very clean. It was a cool experience because they had family style servings today and you ate everything using your hands and bread. The waitress was very nice and kind and helped us pick out the best item. Would definitely recommend and will make sure to come back soon!
Nice place. Great customer service. Few things I have to mention, going upstairs it smells like old house. Also, the chicken was cold and not very fresh. Everything else was great and delicious!
