Dukem Ethiopian Restaurant, Washington D. C. Reviews
Great Ethiopian food, decent prices. It's rare that I order a combination platter (try the veggie platter!) and can finish all of it with another person. The food is great, sometimes there is entertainment, though I am not sure how to find out when. However, stick to beer or wine's that you know well, as the mixed drinks are a mixed bag.
The quality of their food is still rather good. However, was underwhelmed with the cleanliness and appearence of the place. Granted we were there at around midnight on a Saturday, so it's possible that the floor hadn't been cleared after the dinner rush. Still, it seemed like there enough employees around who could've done a bit more. May only go back on a Thursday if they still have a jazz band playing
Great first Ethiopian food experience. The best meal that kept me full for hours. Minus one star bc although nice, service was slow when the place wasn’t busy. Will definitely return regardless.
I'm going to be honest and hope they make the restaurant a place to have a nice meal. The dining area and bathroom was infested with gnats, fleas/flys, and several bees. The insects attacked us and our food. They need to seriously fumigate. We didn't enjoy the environment and we picked at the food being scared as we thought about the kitchen; wondering if it was just as bad or worst. We paid and left with no intention to return. A very disappointed experience.
I ordered their food through Uber eats. I specifically asked for Shiro but they gave me misir wot, which I think they did purposely, because they feel they could away with it. You can't fool me though. I order from them on Uber eats again (lol) the gave me one injera as gluten and one non gluten free. I called about it and they said I told them that I only wanted one gluten free (which is a lie). I asked for a veggie combo of four but they gave me 5 which is cool but they gave me less of the other 4 that I wanted. And they forgot a jalepeno. I want to support Ethiopian restaurants but I don’t know why they do stuff like this.
