  • Great food in a up and coming neighborhood in DC. Been going to this restaurant for a long time now and food quality has not changed. Problem is the place needs to be updated and cleaned up. If you don't care about the ambiance and want good Ethiopian food. This is one of the places to go in DC.

  • The food here is flavorful and well-presented, definitely coming back here!

  • I liked this place but it’s naan or bread was strange food I have ever eaten !

  • It's been a few years since I've been to Dukem and it's really lost something. The gf and I went there tonight and had a number of issues: 1. The yellow lentils on our plate tasted as if they had gone bad. They were happy to give us another item but, come on, that can't happen. 2. They charged us $1.50 for an additional piece of injeera. I can understand an up charge if we were requesting a substantial amount extra but they had only given us one piece between us to share. Also, neither pieces of our injeera were warm. I know that Ethiopian food is often served at room temperature, as ours was, but usually the injeera has been held on a steamer. 3. The flavors on the whole were underwhelming. I don't have specific complaints here but they just weren't as robust as other Ethiopian places I love like Ethiopic or Habesha. 4. A non-food related issue was the fact that it was freezing. They did sit us next to the windows overlooking the patio so perhaps it was better in other areas of the restaurant but they should really consider improved insulation in that area during the winter. On the whole, I'd say that with the number of Ethiopian places, both in the city, and in Silver Spring you're better off elsewhere.

  • Great Ethiopian food, decent prices. It's rare that I order a combination platter (try the veggie platter!) and can finish all of it with another person. The food is great, sometimes there is entertainment, though I am not sure how to find out when. However, stick to beer or wine's that you know well, as the mixed drinks are a mixed bag.
