  • Why do they expect you to pay hundreds of dollars for a VISA and waste so much time and effort? In the end with everything filled out perfectly and all documents submitted they only approve you for a 6 month visa instead of a 10 year?

  • Okay I got really very scared after reading all the negative reviews and was bracing for a nightmarish experience at the Embassy Misc Services - but it was the best, smoothest experience ever!!! I don't think the previous posters were inaccurate, maybe theirs were bad experiences - and their voices made the difference and made things better for us. But the lady behind the counter was courteous, professional and efficient. The other staff were very good. The people coming there were treated with respect, and given the right information, the right advice and my POA was cleared by lunch time. I have to put a post here for people to know that although things may have been bleak in the past, things are good now. Don't be afraid of consular services - they work and they work well. I met some nice Indian folks while I waited who helped each other. The atmosphere was casual and friendly. I am so proud to be Indian that my country's Embassy is so well conducted. Thank you Misc Services. You rock. Make sure you read all online instructions very careful, make a printout of the list of documents and go on ticking on each as you get them ready. Make sure you have copies of everything (2 or 3) more than you need - just to be sure. Make sure you take extra pictures, glue, pen and an extra misc services form - just in case. Make sure you have proof of address and copies and have your paperwork notarized and have the right cash to give. Help them to help you. Things will go well.

  • Was there last week for POA Attestation. Would highly recommend reaching early if you want your documents processed the same day. The timings are from 10-12:30, but the embassy people showed up at around 10:30. I reached at 9:30 and was 6 in line. Was called up to the counter at 11 and documents were processed and returned at around 12:15. People who reached later did not receive the processed documents on the same day. Plan to be there at 9/9:30 with all required documents mentioned on their website.

  • So frustrated with these people, especially in visa office and they have no work ethics. I don't understand why they are working if they don't want to help people, indian embassy should not be in business.

  • During our first visit to the embassy, my husband saw a notice that read 'Don't threaten the employees and that it's illegal to do so', which left us wondering until our turn came. The lady at the counter who seemed like a stereotypical govt. employee yelled at us for attaching an extra copy of documents. Of course she wasn't rude to everybody, or at least not to the ones who spoke her regional language. To sum things up, they will do your work but be ready for some unanticipated rude behavior (not like you had an option).
