  • A truly local natural wonder and a convenient escape from the metropolitan congestion. Great views and sounds of rushing rapids of the upper Potomac river. (No swimming allowed as the river's under currents are extremely strong and many people have drowned disregarding the many "no-swimming" warning signs). Picnic tables and grilling areas makes Great Falls National Park a family-friendly location for picnics and nature walks. The park is operated by the U.S. Park Service and they offer seniors a lifetime unlimited pass to all U. S. Parks for a small fee.

  • This park is great, the paths to the falls are all very nicely pointed out. It is easy to get to all of the viewpoints. The visitor center was very clean and nice. The bathrooms were as well, except some of the stalls had a couple issues. One didn’t have toilet paper and the other two I tried didn’t lock. I had my friend stand in front of the door holding it so no one opened it. Otherwise we loved walking the trails and it was very beautiful to see the falls.

  • Loved heading up here for hiking. It was great to head out early and have a relatively uncrowded time exploring the various trails, but it definitely gets busy quick as we learned on our way back later on in the day. The falls do make for some truly breathtaking vistas and are totally worth the visit if you can make it up here!

  • Absolutely love this place! I believe it cost $10 to get in the park. Well worth it though. They have 3 different spots to see the waterfalls that are super easy to get to. One is even wheelchair friendly! I hope the people who were out there on the water get the chance to see these pictures! I was fun watching them.

  • This park was very awesome to visit. My family and I went for the day as we visited the Virginia area. There are lots of trails to go hiking, you can see the water flowing from many areas on the trail and read about it as you go along. The trail does incline so it may not be easy to walk the whole thing on certain trails but the young kids under six we had with us did just fine. There is a place to buy souvenirs from and stamp your National Park book. You can also watch a movie about the park in the visitor center and read about the park as well. For kids, they can become an official junior ranger. This is a beautiful park that you can enjoy for the day. There is a fee to get in, picnic tables and bathrooms.
