Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial - Review
The Martin Luther King Memorial is a giant statue of the brilliant man who has been one of the most influential figures in relation to equality in the United States. The memorial pays tribute to a truly amazing personality. The statue or rather the monument is built on the basis of a small saying in King’s famous “I have a Dream” speech that goes “Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope.” This part has been carved in the stone too. His figure has been carved out of stone making the structure very symbolic.
17 quotes from his various writings and speeches have been put up on the inscription wall. The atmosphere of the place and the memory of this amazing man are both truly inspiring. Do certainly put this one on your must-list.

Absolutely stunning! The design and placement is over all beautiful. Right by the water and with beautiful gardens. This is a must see memorial! They did a great job with this one! The memorial wall with his quotes light up at night time as well. The pictures do no justice for what you see in person.
This is yet another wonderful memorial in Washington I love reading all the quotes and what a lot of people don’t know is that this memorial leads into another memorial in the back. You can easily walk from the main mall to here and there are lots of water fountains along the way in case you get thirsty! I’m here you can look over the river and taking a water to her is also fun. I took Uber and lift to many of the different places but with everything around the mall I was able to walk.
Dr. King was a drum major for peace. I respect and will remember what he has done for Black Americans always. I vividly remember the day he was assassinated. I was a Junior at a White School in Chicago. The buses would not stop and a crowd of us walked to the nearest train stop in a daze wondering where Black folks would go from here. I stood at his Statue in awe. Thank you for walking and working for me. I am one of your success stories.
Amazing to finally see a monument that truly represents a part of the character and integrity of America. Peaceful area that amazing to see at night. Read the quotes along the walls and look over the water. Take the time to reflect on how this man had a platform and used it fight for what was right.
The memorial of an iconic person is always unique and beautiful, and fortunately, this memorial applies with that rule. Martin Luther King Jr. is carved out of the white stone, looking out into the crowd as he is going to give his famous speech. A tip for taking pictures is to use the vibrant filter on your phone or camera to capture all the beautiful colors of the memorial.
