Phillips Flagship, Washington D. C. Reviews - Write a Review
The server was very nice and even let us change tables because the sun was in our eyes. The variety was excellent and everything was cooked well. The facility was clean and friendly, adding to a great eating experience. If you are looking for a good seafood option, this is it. 7/10 overall dining experience.
My wife and i had a week vacation in dc. we decided to walk down to the fish market for lunch ( wed ) we got there late and were the only people there so we went to the Phillips Flagship. we have heard many good things about Phillips in other cities and thought the Flagship would be great. we walked in to find a couple of power drinkers/regulars, a man sleeping on a couch and sunset through the windows showed dirt on everything. I had a beer in a dirty glass and got out of there is fast as i could. reviews say there good but i could not find anything good at all.
This is hands down the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food was horrible and our server was even worse. I'd like to pass it off as one bad server in the bunch, but I noticed numerous tables complaining and asking to speak with the manager. Everyone in DC know's that you don’t expect good customer service in certain areas, but this was some of laziest I’ve seen. The waitress forgot half of our order and then capped it off by overcharging us on our bill. The food, if you can call it that, was some of the worst seafood I’ve both seen and tasted. The “crab cake” I ordered was pathetic, something I would expect to see at a Red Lobster in Idaho. As I was leaving every table around me was complaining about the food quality and asking to see the manager. I would not eat here again even if they were offering a free all you can eat buffet.
HORRIBLE!!! After visiting so many other Phillip’s restaurants I had high expectations for the mother Phillip’s Restaurant. Boy was I WRONG!!! This was one of the worst buffet experiences that I have had. The line for the seafood which is located in the corner was almost out the door. The crab legs were soggy and bland. You would think that the all of the seafood would be located in the middle of the serving area or in many stations since it is a seafood restaurant. But NOPE it was in the corner. There were MANY empty pans of in the serving areas where they ran out of certain foods. It 90 degrees outside of the restaurants and 95 degrees inside of the restaurant. The tables and walls were dirty and dark. The servers were nice. The hostess staff was rude and the manager for the night was also rude. The famous crab cakes were horrible. It had more filling then crab meat. I will NEVER EVER recommend this restaurant to anyone nor will I ever return to this restaurant.
I went there when I visited DC to celebrate my birthday. I expected it to be a decent seafood buffet. But it disappointed me, the food is very common. With only some shells, crab salad and seafood soups. Almost all other things you can eat at other buffets. There aren't much real seafood in the soup. With $16.99 for lunch, I think not worth the money. If it is with normal price like $10-12, I will go there again, but for $17, no. I haven't tried dinner, maybe dinner would be better with about $10 more expensive.
