Ulysses S. Grant Memorial Reviews & Ratings

  • Great display along a gorgeous water feature. I would say pond or pool but it is too big to be either. Would be a relaxing place to read a book.

  • This memorial was closed for a time in recent months. It appeared to have been cleaned, as part of a restoration project. From the area you can get great panoramic views of the U.S. Capitol, U.S. Botanical Gardens, as well as views, all the way down the National Mall to the Washington Monument. It is open and easily accessible to the public, even though it appeared that some work is still continuing in the area.

  • Worth a quick stop (and snaps) if you find yourself in the Capitol area. We stopped longer than we expected after we found a nice spot at the base of the monument. We took a break, enjoyed the view of the Capitol building, and did some power snacking.

  • Great place to take photos if you are an amateur photographer or if you just want to take pics with a friend, family member, significant other, kiddos, etc. There is a beautiful and unobstructed view of the Mall while standing on this monument. I also love how it simply says “Grant.” It’s like saying “Nike” or “Jordan”. One word conveys all you need to know!

  • Beautiful place to stop for photos. One way faces the water, the other way faces the capitol building. No toilet facilities.
