Fort Widley Reviews & Ratings
Parked at the top of the road where the woods are and took a walk through them While I was strolling through hidden from the parked cars/vehicles the door of a mobile home flew open when it wasn't supposed to and two people fell out, totally naked and very excited from their meat and two veg!!!
Excellent English Heritage members tour. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who braved the wind and weather to give us a great tour. Fascinating history up to the cold War times until its decommission in 92. It is used for a multitude of events so hopefully it can be maintained and preserved as a historic site. Also as an ex RDA committee member of another area nice to see an active RDA centre along with a riding school. It's a bit of hike from the nearest station of Cosham but a taxi from the centre of Portsmouth cost just over a tenner so we did that.
Because of the uniqueness of this historical Fort and the amazing views over town, sea and countryside..
