Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve Reviews & Ratings

  • Great place to relax, connect with nature and see some wildlife. Just make sure to bring some bug repellent and a walking stick of some kind is a good idea as well as appropriate footwear. Other than that just stay off your phone and listen to the world around you.

  • Wonderful preserve for backpacking! Trails are marked well for the most part but make sure you have a good map and maybe a good GPS that doesn't rely on cell phone data. We encountered a lot of wildlife and can't wait to plan our next visit

  • Went for birding, saw some great birds and painted buntings (female in pictures attached, Male was too quick)!!! I walked all trails available, had the best luck crossing the bridge on the way to the sinkhole. The boardwalk is nice, but you wont see many birds along there - it is too dense. Other good spot is just to the right of the tortoise and opossum, by the feeders. Not much luck at the bird blind.

  • This park is great if you are looking for some primitive camping. There are a couple bathrooms around and I think I saw what might have been a shower. This is a 3 start rating because while it was pretty there wasn't really much to do. We went for a little kayaking but the water was very low and there were a lot of obstacles to get around. Even getting out and going around them twice we still couldn't get very far. There are some hiking trails as well. I don't think we'll be back. But if you're looking for just simply camping this might be the place for you.

  • Great cycling trail. Could use more shade on the trail. Trail head every 10 miles.
