  • Beautiful spot, well maintained sites. Outhouse toilets are clean. Good place for boats and fishing, even without a dock. Over all a great weekend camping get a way.

  • Giving 3 stars to this provincial campground. The county campground, called Buck Lake Camp Ground, is in the town of Buck Lake. The county campground is like a big lawn but is close to the boat launch and is across from the rodeo grounds. Dont confuse it with Calhoun provincial park. Calhoun is across the lake from the town so you will need someone to drive the truck and boat trailer back to Calgoun. Lack of boat launch and swimming is the reason for 3 stars and not more. The water looks pretty good and would be nice to jump into for a swim off the boat away from shore. A proper boat launch is available in the town of Buck Lake. Hand launching of small boats such as 12' and canoes is easy at Calhoun. In the past there was a boat launch at Calhoun. The creek running through the camp allowed beaching of boats at some camp sites so in that regard the camp is lesser than it was even 3 years ago. Perhaps due to overfishing in the past, I dont know, catches are limited to 1 walleye per day 50cm and over. You will catch lots of 49cm fish but very few 50cm. Jack is catch and release.

  • This place is totally neglected as far as boat launching. The only place to launch a boat is so weed infested you couldn't launch one if you tried. Not feeling good about the counties ways of maintaining these beautiful parks. We pay enough for limited services so I feel there could be a little more effort put into looking after these sites so we can enjoy them.
