Whitianga has a Maritime climate of warm summers (November to April) and moderate to cool winters (June to August), with winter rainfall. Weather is pleasant and predictable all year round.

Depending on what activities you would like to do, you could visit in the warm, dry months from December to March, or the cooler winter months. Autumn and spring are advisable, as weather is even and there are no tourist crowds.
