Preserving the history of Native Americas alive in the 21st century, the Mid-America All-Indian Center is the only facility in Kansas that is solely dedicated to American-Indian culture and heritage. The centre has traditional artefacts and shops that sells jewellery, traditional garments, gifts, decor and souvenirs. The centre was co-founded by Betty Nixon in 1976 who was also Kiowa Artisan and today has become one of the best places in the world to learn about the lives, contribution and culture of the American-Indian tribes.

The highlight of the centre is the powwow- a traditional Native American ceremony with good food and dancing. The art work seen around the centre is stunning to say the least with vibrant coloured prints of flags suspended from the ceiling. The beautiful paintings, old historic photos that showcase the history of Indians in aviation and the grand Christmas exhibit that turns the entire centre into a scene straight out of a fairytale, pulls visitors to the centre and with a range of activities, it has become a loved spot by children too. The place is the cultural centre for 10,000 Native Americans from 72 tribes that have their roots in the plains and the adjacent regions. The two major fund raisers hosted here are the Mid-America All-Indian Center Benefit Car Show (spring season) and the Mid-America All-Indian Center and Friends Culture Dash (fall season).
