Keeping the performance art in the city alive, The Music Theatre Wichita self-produces 5 broadway-scale musicals from June to August every year with some of the most renowned broadway and hollywoods stars. Every performance is a team work of around 130 professionals including an ensemble of 30 orchestra members. The stage is grand with polished costumes and set and impeccable performances and writing. If you ask, you can also get a few recordings of the past performances at the theatre. Every year thousands of people come here for auditions and many more visit the place to simply witness the magic on stage.
Apart from the regular broadway performances, the theatre also hosts special events and concerts. Currently, the place can seat 2100 people and offers intern programs along with supporting a teen choir and hosting the annual Jester Wards.
