Standing on a rocky headland, Black Castle was initially built for protection and has suffered numerous attacks from local Chieftains. A vantage point at the castle helped to get views over the town and the North Wicklow coast. The castle ruins are available at the location and make for an interesting visit for the history buffs. The location also offers incredible views of the town and is a great location for clicking Instagram-worthy pictures.
