The Old Military Road or the R115 Road in Ireland is one of the most historical and scenic routes for a long drive. It runs across the spine of the Wicklow Mountains. Constructed in between 1800-09, the road played a great role in opening a passage through the mountains for the British Army who captured and put down the insurgents of the 1798 Rebellion who were hiding inside. The drive along the road can be enchanting and tricky at the same time with its twists and turns as well as the diverse natural beauty of the snow-clad hills, picturesque valleys, rivers, and woods.
