Fairy Glen Reviews & Ratings

  • Managed by local council and therefore underfunded. 1 area of stagnating water. Biting insects so use caution. 1 dragonfly observed. Some birds. Terrain unsuitable for the disabled; especially wheelchairs. Car park nearby but not directly at the entrance. Cars do park at entrance but limited space. Gloomy under the tree canopy. Area used by dog walkers. Some dog poo on ground. Some litter, beer cans and plastic. Ensure no valuables left in vehicle. Ensure camera equipment is kept in appropriate protective pouch or bag as some terrain is rocky. There are a number of steps to negotiate. It would be possible to take a small rugged buggy but it's all uphill on the return leg. Ground surface is not paved but route on return in part is by using road. Remainder of route is compacted sandy soil. Some mud. Falls themselves are only moderately interesting unless in flood. Entertaining for children splashing in water. Young children should be supervised here.

  • Excellent hidden gem. Gorgeous walks by a lovely stream, with several beautiful waterfalls. The kids enjoyed looking out for the "fairy glitter" that was dotted about. Lots of nice places to have a picnic too, with fantastic views! Doesn't have toilet facilities; however, there is a pub only a couple of minutes walk from the entrance. Can't wait to come again, and next time we will definitely be bringing the dogs.

  • Amazing place, I found it very spiritual. Great the children especially finding the fairy dust around the trees lots of wildlife around. Needs more dog bins as owners tend to leave little bags lying about, we must look after our green areas as we have few left due to development everywhere.

  • Beautiful, lovely short linear walk. Take wellies or spare shoes! Kids haven't managed to visit here without getting soaked in the stream!

  • Really pretty place, so much to see. Great for all ages. Remember your wellies for paddling in stream and camera for the waterfalls plus views. Look out for the fairies and fairy dust too. Great walk for dogs.
