Echo Canyon Recreation Area is a park which gives access to the camelback mountain. It houses three hiking trails where you can hike. The Camelback Mountain Foundation was established in 1968 whose primary aim is to protect the area and its natural habitat. The lower elevation of the mountain is covered with various cactus plants such as prickly pear, cholla, staghorn, Christmas, jumping cholla, pincushion, hedgehog, barrel and saguaro. Other types of trees such as ocotillo plant, ironwood, mesquite and palo verde. Several types of snakes and birds along with animals such as Harris antelope squirrels, lizards and cottontail rabbits can be found in Echo Canyon Recreation Area.
