Sri Venkateswara Temple - Review

Located in Helensburgh near Wollongang, the Sri Venkateswara Temple is one of the most popular and impressive Hindu temples in the Southern Hemisphere that attracts visitors and Hindu devotees from all over New South Wales, and the rest of Australia. The temple is beautifully located close to the ocean. It is completely enveloped in the lush green natural beauty of this hamlet and displays traditional Indian architecture. Since Australia is one of those lands that has been inhabited by all cultures and religions, the presence of this Hindu shrine over here is an evidence of the nation’s secularity. After you pay your homage to the deity in this temple, you can also have delectable “prasadam”(sacrament) in its canteen.

Sri Venkateswara Temple, Wollongong Reviews

  • Gem of spiritual place in Sydney. Very big and get calmness after a long travel from West or North of Sydney. All deities are there to suit you. Food at canteen is other favourite for which people throng here at weekends who travel south coast for great food. Else you won't have any where to eat for next 1 hour down the Prince's Highway! Could make good use of garden and plant more trees to be green. Waste of land around .

  • Peaceful and silent atmosphere around an hour drive from Sydney. The temple is well maintained and serves authentic Indian food in their canteen on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public holidays from 10am-4pm. Mostly crowded on weekends and special religious days.

  • Temple being a scared place is very beautiful. Further there is a South Indian food canteen which operates over weekend and public holidays which is another major attraction. The food is reasonably priced and is value for money. However expect big lines anytime 11 after 11am. The food itself is decent in taste but not something you will talk about for all your life.

  • Holy place to make your inner soul pure and mind peace. Can perform rituals from highly respected priest (gurus).

  • Awesome and relaxing Place. Usually busy and crowded during weekends. Ample parking. Awesome food during weekends
