The Wattamolla beach is situated two kilometres south of Marley and is backed by the narrow 500 m long Wattamolla Lagoon. This lagoon is fed by Wattamolla and Coole creeks and bordered by steep valley sides, with the lagoon breaking out across the southern corner of the beach. This beach is considered to be one of the best places in Australia to swim as it remains relatively quiet under normal low wave conditions. The lagoon looks stunning with its blue waters that remain quaint and offer a beautiful oceanic sight. There is also a picnic area that is annexed to this beach where you can have multiple options to entertain yourself and your kids.
- Use the sun-glasses while going out in the sun.
- Although the beach is relatively quiet however children should be watched both on the beach and in the lagoon as fatalities have occurred.
- The inner rocks of lagoon are relatively safe; however like much of the National Park the outer rocks are high, exposed and dangerous.

Excellent place for a family/friends day out. You will enjoy the beach on one side and the lagoon on the other. There is a bush walk which will take you to the top of the cliff and its an amazing view from there. Remember that the sea water connects with the lagoon by the evening, so return back in time. There are barbecues available to cook but not on the beach. Start early as on peak days its difficult to get a car parking and space on the beach.
Love this place! The new access & bridge makes it perfect for getting across with children and your beach essentials. This place is a piece of heaven ❤
Nice place, but avoid being there during the peak season in Summer. The crowds and the kids playing make it look like an aquatic amusement park. If you manage to visit when it’s less crowded, you’ll love it
Nice place. Family friendly, safe for kids swim around.
Calm beautiful and must go beach for people living in sydney southern suburbs
