Xian Tourism

One of China's four historic capitals under several dynasties, Xi'an is a mixture of the old world of the Middle Kingdom and the brand new. With over 8 million people making the city their home, there's plenty to do and see. Most famous for the Terracotta Warriors discovered only recently by a farmer digging his fields, there are many reasons to visit Xi’an including the fact that it is the centre of China's space program. It is also one end of the famous “silk road” one of the oldest trading routes in Asia.

Xi'an covers nearly 10,000 square kilometres, and you'll find it hard to get to see the entire city unless you're staying for months. It stands on the West bank of the Feng River and the South bank of the Wei River to the North where the city meets the Qinling Mountains..
