The Kaba Aye Paya, roughly translating to ‘World Peace Pagoda’, was built in the year 1952 to host the 6th Buddhist council. 36 meters tall, the stupa has a circumference of 34 meters and has a stunning golden dome topped with a multi-tiered ornamental spire. The interiors of the pagoda are adorned with beautiful murals whereas the exterior of the pagoda is decked with yellow, blue, turquoise and red lotuses, lotus buds and swastika.
