Located on Bo Aung Kyaw Street in Botahtaung Township, Yangon, the Saint Mary’s Cathedral is an exquisite place of spirituality to visit. The cathedral looks beautiful with its red brick exterior that also exhibits spires and a bell tower. This is the largest church in Burma that was designed by Dutch architect Joseph Cuypers, son of Pierre Cuypers. Having suffered adverse times such as 1930 Rangoon earthquake and World War II, this church still stands intact and imposing.

  • A place to visit for those who love historical places. Very beautiful Cathedral, worth visiting and worshipping (for Catholics).

  • This old church is located in downtown area near Bogyoke Market and Junction City. It is very old church. If you want to know about history of Myanmar, you should pay a visit.

  • Different from the usual places you'd visit in Yangon or in Myanmar for that matter, but I would say it's worth a visit. I particularly enjoyed the window mosaics which were really well done and colorful. It is also a good place to sit down and cool down if you've been walking around and touring the busy streets of the city.

  • The pray center of Roman Catholic. The interior and exterior design is wonderful. We can see the art of medieval period.

  • Didn't visit during open hours, so did not go inside. And the church was preparing for a wedding ceremony. The stained glasses inside seem to be really beautiful.
