Northern Frontier Visitors Center, Yellowknife Reviews

  • Now permanently CLOSED & MOVED to Yellowknife City Hall (temporarily)

  • We visited Yellowknife in July 2015. The Visitors Center was very helpful in helping us locate restaurants, barbershops, retail stores, and services which we required for our RV. The staff at the visitors center is friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know the "answer", they do their best to find out. There is a bit of rough road to get to Yellowknife. -- But -- Yellowknife-- what an unforgettable experience! A great visitor's center. Friendly people-- from the merchants, to the dentist ( I had to get a tooth crown "reglued"), to the blond meter lady. ( The waitress at the Dancing ( or Laughing) Moose helped me find the dentist).

  • Valuable information, welcoming staff. A place worth going on your first day. Sell postcards and furs... If you are against fur trade, be prepared.

  • First place you need to go if you are new to the city. Friendly staff and a great place to walk about. They always have a wonderful selection of Yellowknife artists wears to choose from.

  • The Northern Frontier Visitors Center is the #1 place to go when visiting Yellowknife! Not only are the staff knowledgeable and helpful in providing tourist information for travelers visiting the North, they also provide fun activities and have interpretative displays about Diamonds, the Aurora and Yellowknife history. At the Northern Frontier Visitors center you can purchase loads of locally made Northwest Territories art, gifts and souvenirs. Something for everyone, even the locals!
