The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a primary geologic feature in the Canyon District. Spread across a vast area, the canyon is approximately 20 miles long. The canyon you see today is not very old. It is around 10,000 to 14,000 years old. However, research has shown that there probably used to be another canyon in this location for a much longer period. There are many hiking trails around the canyon, some lead to the Upper and Lower Falls of Yellowstone while some lead to the Yellowstone River.

One of the most popular sights in Yellowstone and rightfully so. If you want to take a good picture of the water falls I suggest you got there late morning. At this time the sunlight will fall into the canyon and you may even have a chance of seeing a rainbow in the falls.
Pretty neat. Landscaping looks really cool. Very easy hikes in a lot of scenic drives
Wonderful I visited Yellowstone National Park with Cosmos tours during Sep - Oct of 2017. Every spot of Yellowstone is wonderful, packed with Nature, History and Geology. Don't miss the great view from Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone on your visit.
This is one of my favorite areas in Yellowstone. There are some great hiking trails here on both sides on the canyon with some amazing views. If you're in Yellowstone, you must visit this area. It's just beautiful!!
Wow! This place is awesome. Bring your hiking shoes. All the good lookouts are a relatively steep hike. If you stick to the main lookouts you won't have any issues. Remember your bear spray!
