Old Faithful Inn, Yellowstone National Park Reviews
Really amazing place to stay at. The views of old faithful and other geysers were amazing and the interior of the building is really beautiful. There is pretty good food and many cool places to sit down and eat it. The rooms aren't as great being pretty small and some with mice and it takes about 2 years to book one. The central location of the lodge in relation to the park makes it very easy to move around the park without that much driving. Overall it was a beautiful place and I hope to stay there next time I visit the park.
We stayed in an Old House 2 queen room. So lovely! We didn't mind that the bathroom was down the hall. It was so nice and clean. Fluffy towels and shampoo, conditioner, bath gel provided. We were very close to the lobby but couldn't here the noise. My only complaint is that the window opened to the main roof and was noisy and hot so we had to keep it closed. Thankfully a fan was provided.
The lodge is amazing!!! Steps away from old Faithful, you can watch old Faithful multiple times in a night. The Inn everything you would expect from a historic lodge. The rooms are small and quaint. The staff is super responsive Holly at the front desk is friendly and helpful. We stopped with no reservations but got lucky to get a last minute cancellation room. Keep in mind if you are looking for a room with everything that a modern day hotel this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a rustic experience this place rocks!
Beautiful lodge right next to the Old Faithful Geyser. It's a bit smaller than I expected, but really nice and rustic inside. The lodge is a must - see item on the yellowstone itinerary. It also has the best food of all the restaurants we visited in the park. The location is good for a short stay and if geysers are your key motivator for visiting. If you're in Yellowstone for longer and want to stay in one lodge, I'd recommend the more centrally located Canyon Lodge.
The Inn itself may be the most remarkable hotel in America; I've traveled pretty widely and never found or heard of any place to beat it. We stayed 4 nights in the Old House in May 2018 and it was much as it has been on my prior visits (first was in 1962) and the rooms were comfortable and the music in the afternoon and evenings was stellar! If you stay here, be sure to take the tour of the Inn, and try to get a room in the Old House (not unreasonable at $140). However, the food was uniformly a disaster. This has not been the case in the past. Our breakfast in the dining room featured dirty dishes, cold scrambled eggs and French toast, and burnt weak coffee. If a health inspector had come they would have been in trouble. Our dinner in the Bear Pit featured a McDonald's-quality hamburger for $16 and a waiter who seemed not to know we existed and who left entirely halfway through our meal. So, for the rest of our stay we used the dining facilities at the Snow Lodge (which are quite good) or got snacks and coffee at the deli and one of the general stores. But the Inn itself remains an extraordinary experience.
