Old Faithful Inn Reviews & Ratings
Staff friendly Room neat but old stained carpet, floor in bathroom dirty. I think I’d had a better nights sleep on the floor, felt every spring in the mattress. For $300 plus a night you’d think it would have been more comfortable. Inn was all it reads to be with the wood and decor, but had to walk at least 25 steps to get to the room. Of course, hot, they did have a fan in the room. Should have driven out of the park even if it was midnight
We stayed in an Old House 2 queen room. So lovely! We didn't mind that the bathroom was down the hall. It was so nice and clean. Fluffy towels and shampoo, conditioner, bath gel provided. We were very close to the lobby but couldn't hear any noise. My only complaint is that the window opened to the main roof and was noisy and hot so we had to keep it closed. Thankfully a fan was provided.
Definitely a lot of history- the building is beautiful, the food was good, the service was good. I did not stay the night but I heard no complaints. Old faithful is definitely a daytime activity. Since we were just passing through- with a full moon- we still only heard it.
The inn is amazing. I love to sit in the 'loft' area and people watch in the big leather chairs. If large crowds aren't your thing, find another place to stay. Since the best spot to watch Old Faithful is from the outdoor deck with a hot chocolate or glass of wine, the inn gets pretty crammed every couple of hours before Old Faithful takes off. While waiting, we watched 4 tour busses pulled up and we were thankful that we claimed our seats on the deck a little early. The inn itself has a classic woodsy feel to it. If you get a chance, go to the gift shop and join a quick tour to hear the history of the inn and how it survived the fires of Yellowstone in the 80's. So worth it to just spend a couple of hours and see Old Faithful. Happy Travels!
Stayed in a cabin was nice room. Food was good though not great. Prices for food reasonable. Employees were nice. Tip do not visit when school is out. It is packed especially at Old Faithful. Told by employees that as soon as school starts the crowds thin. Eric from Lombard IL
