Kurihama Flower Park, Yokosuka Reviews
This is our one of favorite parks in all of Japan. It's an easy walk from Kurihama station (either JR or Keikyu). The flowers are beautiful in the spring but the park is still fun in the off-season as well. Walk up the hill (or take the train-tram) and enjoy some lunch at the outdoor seating area near Godzilla. The kids love the playground although over the years it has gotten a bit run down and needs some repair. For a new playground, keep following the trail up and over the hill to the new kid's area.
Gorgeous place. I was just out riding my bike and happened across this place and decided to take a walk around and I sure am glad I did. I wasn't prepared for the extensive walking up long slopes but luckily I had my walking shoes on. The flowers in the front part of the park looked like they had passed their full bloom point at the time of the season I entered but after walking farther I was able to see great round flowers and herb gardens and the large Godzilla and once you reached the top there is a great view of the whole place. Also the slides were fun but I realized after I walked back that I should have purchased a slide seat instead of just sitting straight on it. It was a wonderful experience albeit I was very tired afterwards
It’s free and beautiful. There’s always something to see here all year around. Pay the few yen for the bus to go uphill one way. Pay parking is available if needed.
A really nice place! Went in early May and there were so many flowers and a line of fish kites. A great place for dates or a stroll
Walked a lot looking at flowers and trees... from the highest point you can see the ocean. Beautiful, and having not grown up, loved the Gojira slide.
