Empire City Casino At Yonkers Raceway Reviews & Ratings
Empire City Casino is one of my favorites. It has many games such as roulette, blackjack, and 3 card poker. It's layout is very spacious, so it's easy to get around even if there are tons of people there. Personally, I've won many times at this casino. It's location is also great, very close if you're in the North Bronx, or just in Yonkers. But, still a great experience every time I go. My favorite game to play is roulette, and there are tons of different tables for it. I believe they also have European roulette but I'm not 100% sure. Friendly staff, good food, and tons of drinks if you're over 21. You also do not need to be 21 to go, minimum age is 18. The only reason I am giving this a 4 star instead of 5, is because of the Casino in Queens. The one in Queens is much more spacious, and has much more to do, but this one is still great if you're in the area.
This casino is fun but still lacks improvements. Hopefully now that MGM owns Empire, good things will come. For instance, the promotions booth lines are a drag and can be cumbersome to wait. I lack patience standing in line for 15 minutes and only finding one person assisting. When the high rollers come up, they cut the line, which is fine but it causes the main line to back up. Second, It's not a short walk to casino especially when it's chilly outside. I don't mind the shuttle buses as the drivers are friendly but they take forever to pick up and drop off. Sometimes, I have waited 20 minutes for a shuttle to the parking lot which is crazy. They need to improve this ASAP. Lastly, the slots are good and in my opinion fairly loose. Lastly, get rid of every sit down restaurant. The food is terrible. Stick with the food court. I hope to visit again one day soon
Where do I start? Slot machines! Too many to keep track of. But I have to admit a nice mix to keep you from getting bored. And they're always changing the one arm bandits to keep you coming back. I prefer the Roulette games. More my style. Parking is great because its free and plentiful.Or you can go the valet way for a few dollars more! Alcohol is available but expensive @ the two Empire bars & restaurants. Empires' cafeteria food is decent and differs in the handful of choices available. Security is good & bathrooms are always clean. A clear alternative to A/C,Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. But then again, you be the judge. Good Luck!
Great atmosphere, people are generally friendly, and there are a lot of giveaways and promotions. The old Dan Rooney's has been re-christened as "The Pub" and also has a pleasant atmosphere (like a sports bar) near the main entrance. Parking is plentiful and there is a shuttle service if the walking distance is unmanageable. MGM recently acquired and/or is managing the property. The Raceway is still operating.
I'm afraid that even after replying to all of their emailed surveys and questionnaires, the restrooms are often very dirty, and there seems to be no use of any kind of fresheners. Visit any hotel casino, and there are standards for cleaning that are kept. Its a way of showing your customers how much you value their patronage that seems absent here at this establishment. The La Cocina eatery at Empire City Casino is always spotless and nice, but take a trip into the restrooms, and its a different story. Management, this is your responsibility...you know that. There are cups and wrappers by the slot machines that you can see at any time of day. More and more slot machines seem to be breaking, but at least I always see people working on it. The Wednesday afternoon live entertainment, that I've always praised and enjoyed seems to have become a thing of the past, with focus being placed rather on those frequenting the property at night only.(Sorry seniors, no more dancing, I guess...) Those of us who work nights, or are out and about during the daytime will have to do without, or find a new casino to go to for entertainment. There are alternatives nearby. With so many emails asking for feedback, I'm sorry to have seen either no change, or change for the worst instead. Management, you're basically telling me that my opinion doesn't mean anything, and that maybe I should retire my oft-used Empire card.
