This is possibly the most romantically named famous waterfall in the world – and imaginative too! The trek to the fall is easy and short, a 2 kms round trip – but it’s totally worth it. It’s 189 metres drop causes a white curtain of water that only get more ephemeral when a breeze is blowing, causing long sprays of ghost like mists to waft out gracefully. Also strongly stand even quarter a mile away from the fall when it’s cascading at full strength (in spring) and you’ll get damp. Still, not everyone is such a tortured heart – the Ahwahneechee believed that the veil was home to the vengeful spirit Pohono who’d curse just about any one that looked her way. Bride or spirit – this fall seems to evoke a sense of hiding something. The photographs will come out great no matter what though, this is evident from the ample number of photographs that nearly three million visitors take of the site every year, year on year.
