Witness the famous cherry blossoms in full bloom from Mount Yoshino on your trip to Japan. Cherry blossoms, known as Sakura in Japan, are beautiful pink flowers. Mount Yoshino offers a spectacular view of more than thirty thousand Sakura trees in full bloom as you ascend its slope. It is recommended that you wear a good pair of shoes because the hike can be a bit long if you want to enjoy the splendor of nature. Carry your own food and water to have a little picnic with a beautiful backdrop of the valley, turned pink with Sakura. There are plenty of shops and restaurants on the way for you to shop and eat.

Mount Yoshino Reviews & Ratings
It’s quite a nice place but definitely lots of tourists and shops dedicated to them. They had a lot of cherry blossoms but I don’t think I would go out of my way again to come back (1.5 hours from Osaka one way). Worth the experience but other than that, nothing too special
Sakura here is really overrated, looked much worse than Keaga蹴上 or Daigo-ji 醍醐寺. It's probably good, but not worthy to spend 6-7 hours just for sakura. Besides, it is very hard to realize how to buy limited express ticket.
Great view and cherry blossoms was beautiful
Although it’s a 2 hour drive from the Osaka city, it’s totally worth the time, especially if you go there during cherry blossom season. The road was very crowded because of the peak travel season, a bit hard to find a good parking spot. Some people chose to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk all the way (or take a cable car) to the top. There are a lot of good photo spots. You can also find some street foods or restaurants there.
Amazing cherry flower rain after each breeze. Worth the 2h train ride from Kyoto.
