For over thirty years, Al Areen Wildlife Park has been committed towards protecting and taking care of various wildlife and plant species. To be a bit precise with the numbers, there are over forty-five animal species, over eighty-two bird species and approximately 10, 000 planted trees all around the park. Covering an area of 800 hectares, the park has been divided into two sections each of which is of 400 hectares. One section is for public access while the other is a protected reserve and only allows access to researchers, specialists, animal keepers, and veterinarians.
