Located in the west Hunan Province, Zhangjiajie was a hidden gem in the verdant valleys of China. The city of Zhangjiajie is known for its National Forest Park and the stupendous scenic areas. The Wulingyuan scenic area is located within Zhangjiajie and is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is also a home to the Tianzishan mountain ranges, Tianzi Mountain scenic area, Baofenghu and the Suoxi Valley.

  • The area gets super crowded during the Chinese national holidays (Labour Day: May 1–3, National Day: October 1–7), in summer vacations (July and August). It is recommended to avoid visiting the area during this time.
  • Always book your hotels and guides way ahead of your visit.
  • Pack warm clothes, rainy-wear and comfortable shoes.
  • Carry altitude sickness medicines.
