Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - Review
The first national forest park of china spread over 50 square miles in nothing short of a heaven’s treat. Originally a state-run tree farm, the Zhangjiajie forest park is blessed with subtropical climate. This means it is warm in winters and cool in summers making it an ideal place to plan a picnic or short vacation.
It is one of the several national parks within the Wulingyuan scenic area and itself has five scenic areas- Huangshizhai, Golden Whip Stream, Yaozizhai, Yuanjiajie, and Yangjiajie. With 6 travel routes, 468 sightseeing spots, diverse flora and fauna civet cats, giant salamanders, satyr tragopans, dove trees, maidenhair trees, Chinese yews, and Chinese tulip trees, this is a gem of Zhangjiajie city.
The park also houses a museum displaying the culture of the ethnic group in the area.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Zhangjiajie Reviews
Magnificent park with huge and tall rocks spread on all the parts of this park, Great looks with every rock so differently shaped and isolated from each other, this is a huge park covering more than 278k acres of land. Surrounded by the high spear shaped rocks and huge trees. These rocks with their naturally curved shapes and sizes are the main attraction of all the tourist. Visitors from many parts of the world come here to watch these rocks.
One of the most famous area in China. You need to go there once in your life. However, it's pretty the same thing at all places around the mountain. Go by walking at least once but not the longest ride, I did it and it's more than tough! Take the telepheric too to have a different view of the forest, it's also amazing by this way. More information : you have no choice about the ticket, you have to pay for a 4 Days pass in any case. Be careful 4 days pass means : you can come 4 times, and not during 4 Days. Don't bring too many bottles of water with you, you can buy food and drinks at the top, the middle and the bottom of the mountain. Just think to wear clothes and bring products against insects.
The film location of Avatar for Pandora is beautiful! The cable cars had gorgeous views and the glass bridge and walkways were breathtaking! Definitely must visit this place at least once in your life!
Really loved it. Spent 2 days there. And it is quite enough. Lots of Chinese tourists at the "avatar" view point. But the whole park has it s majestic view points. And there are a lot of monkeys. If you are an adventurer you can all the stairs ( there are a LOT of them), but if in a rush or want to chill a bit they have 3 cable cars and an elevator. (It can be a bit expensive though) Overall it s a really amazing place !
Overall, the park is beautiful. My point deduction is in response to the cruel treatment of wildlife, specifically the monkeys at Golden Whip. At Golden Whip, there is no monitoring of guests as they feed and taunt the monkeys. Many guests were feeding candy and other small snacks, which were still in their plastic wrappers. The monkeys (because they’re monkeys) would eat whatever was fed to them and then keep searching for food, sometimes grabbing bags from the guests. The park’s response to this is to arm park employees with slingshots so they can shoot rocks at the monkeys to scare them away. The monkeys are essentially mistreated for the inappropriate behaviors of the guests (feeding and taunting). I recognize that China has never been progressive in terms of environmental protection/animal treatment, but I expected better than this.
