Zhengzhou is one of the oldest cities of china and hence it became a place where spirituality was a part of its culture and its way of life. Many temples were built from during that time and Town god temple is one of them. Built in 1403 it is dedicated to the legendary Han general Huo Guang as well as the guardian city god, Qin Yubo. A simple but mystical temple it has a few artefacts from the 15th century. The exteriors of the temple place became a bustling market as time passed and it also suffered some damage during the Cultural Revolution and was later renovated in the 90’s.
