It is a unique and beautiful place for those who are into Taiwan’s culture. The temple, as the name suggests, is a Confucius temple built to imitate a Song dynasty palace. The original palace was deemed to be very large and colourful and apparently square shaped, something unique of that time. While the temple inner chambers may not be open for visitors all the time, people can visit its premises and surrounding and relish the beauty of it. Every year on 28th September, the main door to the temple is opened for a dawn ceremony. Meandering a little around will bring you to Martyr’s shrine which is dedicated to fallen heroes. Built in traditional Chinese style, the temple is a much loved destination among the people and a must visit in Taiwan.
