Dutch Water Dreams Reviews & Ratings
This review concern only the indoor surfing. We made a reservation for 8 people, 8 total beginners. They told us on the phone that we would be 2 per "line" (we have no idea what that meant). When we arrived, they told us that we would be as a group on the same "wave". A wave has 2 "lines" (you can surf 2 by 2, one on each side). So we thought that we would be 4 per line (so that was already different from what they told us before). Finally, 4 other people were added to our "wave", so we end up with 12 people on the same wave !!! 6 on each side !!! But the real problem is that these people were "pro", meaning they had their own board (we had only one board for 3, so when someone fell we had to wait to find the board...), and they were surfing each time for 3 minutes non-stop. While these people were surfing we were waiting, wet and cold... When we were trying to surf, we surfed each time 3 to 10 seconds, because of course none of us were "pro", it was our first time.. So we spent 98% of our time waiting for the pro to finish for us to try 5 seconds and then fall and then wait again... ANOTHER WAVE WAS AVAILABLE, BUT THEY DIDN'T WANT TO TURN IT ON !!!! SO YOU PAY FOR 1 HOUR, BUT YOU SURF IN TOTAL 5 MINUTES (or even less). We recorded the full hour with a gopro camera, and it's really shocking on the video : we are waiting on the bench most of the time ! The "teacher" helped each of us once or twice, so for these time we were able to do it for more than 10 secondes in a row, but that's it. The worst is that at the end we learned that 2 of the "pro" stilling our time on the wave were actually working at dutch water dream !!! It could have been a very nice activity with friends, the few minutes we had surfing were fun, but we were really feeling like they were taking the piss out of us ! They could have open the other wave and put only 8 people per wave, or at least put only people with the same level (so people surfing the same amount of time) on each wave !
