You will visit Auschwitz I, the administrative center of the concentration camp, and Auschwitz II, which was designed and constructed as the extermination facility. Take advantage of visiting the place as one of the earliest groups entering the Museum - avoid the crowds. After visit in the first part - Auschwitz I - you will start the second part - visit in Auschwitz II - Birkenau.

After visiting the camp and learning about its history, you will be driven back to Krakow. In the city centre you will have a short break. Length depends on the traffic conditions, but don't worry - your tour leader will let you know when to be at the meeting point.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine tour starts at 8 Szczepanski Square from where you will be picked up. The underground trail in the Salt Mine will lead you through numerous drifts, galleries, and chambers where traces of mining activity have been preserved. You will also see examples of sacred art and theme compositions relating to the history of the mine. • Our tour started early at 6:20am and whilst it is really early - it is worth getting up for. Initially I was not pleased that we had to walk the 30 minutes to the tourist office for our pick up as nothing was stated otherwise on the booking to advise this was not included, however, once we had walked there all was fine.

We got to Auschwitz camp 1 before 8am and our 3 person tour started at 8:20am. Our tour guide was excellent and very informative, given the sensitive nature of our tour. There was lots to see, we did not get to visit all the buildings which we had expected. The site was quiet and as we were leaving there were loads of coaches and tourist queuing to get in.

We then drove to Birkenhau with the same tour guide, this camp is vast but there is not as much to visit / look inside as much of the buildings were destroyed or part destroyed or being rennovated.

We then drove onto lunch at a lovely restaurant, where we got a meal allowance.

Afterwards we went to the Salt Mines, we were early and our driver arranged for our tour to start earlier. This was very interesting, our tour guide was very good and informative. She also somehow managed to get our small group of 3 to overtake all of the larger tours whilst still providing us with lots of information - good skills.

Finally our driver was excellent, I cannot thank him enough for keeping us updated on how long the journeys / tours would take, the breaks we had and generally keeping us informed. I was really impressed at this.

I definitely recommend this tour, very slickly organised and professional. Excellent tour guides and driver. It is really worth getting up early to beat the crowds too.
