Hop aboard your air-conditioned coach in the morning in central Paris, and head south out of the city to begin your castle country tour.

Travel through the Aquitaine countryside to the town of Amboise for your first visit — the Royal Château d'Amboise in the famous Loire Valley.

Continue onward to Amboise and enjoy a little free time in this attractive town for lunch (own expense). Afterward, take a guided tour of the nearby Château du Clos Lucé and the Gardens of Villandry, made famous as Leonardo da Vinci's final place of residence in the early 16th century.

Head on to the historic town of Tours with your guide, for your evening meal and first night’s accommodation.

Overnight: 3-star hotel in Tours

Day Two: Tours – Château de Chenonceau – Château de Cheverny – Château de Chambord – Paris (B, L)

After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, depart from Tours and head on to the spectacular Château de Chenonceau, widely considered to be among the very finest of all France’s castles. An intriguing blend of late Gothic and early Renaissance architectural styles, the castle dates back to the 16th century and its four archways span the length of the Cher River. During your guided tour, hear of Chenonceau’s interesting heritage from your guide and take in beautiful views out along the river.

Head on from the Château de Chenonceau for a guided visit of the magnificent 17th-century Château de Cheverny, first opened to the public in 1914. Cheverny is renowned for its ornate interiors, and its impressive collection of antique furniture, paintings, sculptures and tapestries is a joy to behold.

Depart Cheverny and head to the nearby Hotel Saint-Hubert for a farewell lunch, then conclude your tour through the Loire Valley with a visit to the imposing Château de Chambord. Constructed by King Francis I of France, this French Renaissance castle is widely considered one of the most impressive in the world and blends medieval building styles with classical Renaissance architecture to perfection.

At the end of your guided visit of the Château de Chambord, hop back aboard your coach for the 2.5-hour journey back to central Paris where your castle country tour will come to an end.

The sites were worth seeing, the guide was knowledgeable and easy to listen to.....the pacing and overall structure was excellent........the bus driver was fantastic.....the hotel was clean, comfortable and modern.....the meals were not gourmet but good....nothing not to like!!!!!

The selection of castles, the organisation of logistics and the English guide were all very good. The hotel where we were accommodated at Tours could have been better in terms of room infrastructure.

Great 2-day trip to 6 chateaux with a focus on living quarters and amazing gardens. Especially liked that some of the stops were to chateaux less commonly seen. Loved the free time for lunch first day. Walking tour of Tours was an added bonus. Hotel and meals were quite good - much better than expectations for meals provided for a large group. Very nice bus and careful driver. Tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. All in all, a delight!

Here are the main problems--1.the advertised major chateau of Blois is not even on the tour schedule!!!
2.the advertised sleepover in major city of Tours actually happened on the outskirts of much smaller town, many miles away!Nowhere to walk outside the hotel grounds before/after meal.
    3. The advertised paid meals-dinner and lunch were served poorly, late and WITHOUT ANY liquids, even soft drinks, coffee, etc.
We had to buy all meal -even non-alcoholic- drinks and spent over 40 on them to wash the mediocre meals down the lunch was also served in non-A/C stuffy room with sweat poring down our fronts and backs instead the drinks down our throats.
Otherwise, the Loire Valley is gorgeous, the guide was knowleadgeable and I wish the tour organizers cared a little more about people paying lots of money to see these places

The hotel we stayed in was clean, above average with plenty of room, hot water, etc. The dinner was fair as no tea or soda included and small food portions. The hotel restaurant did provide a small nonalcoholic orange juice type drink.
Breakfast was above average with eggs supplied so not just a continental breakfast with pastries.
Tour guide spoke very slowly and with a French accent and different pronunciation of English words which made it very difficult to understand. Castles were very expansive with ample time to wander around in the gardens.
It would be much better to have an audio guide on tape instead of given by the tour guide for better understanding especially when around other groups.
The bus was comfortable, but the ride did not have much info on scenery or landmarks as the tour guides spoke more in French with the bus driver than with us in English. We passed hundreds of windmills without any explanation of how much of power was generated for which towns. All in all, this was a nice experience to see medieval castles/chateaus/gardens of DaVinci, kings and queens.

Our 2 day tour comprised part of the first day with one group before we joined another group for the evening and the 2nd day. We struggled to follow the English commentary on the first part due to the accents of the guides, however we were delighted by Roberto the guide for the second part of trip who was both extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand.
We would recommend this trip as the sights were fantastic and timing was good allowing enough for lunches etc. and free time.

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip to the Loire Valley. After leaving Paris and traveling to the chateaux country, we visited Blois and Amboise before changing to another bus. This new group for the two day tour was smaller and very congenial. Our hotel in Tours was very nice with a delicious breakfast and dinner. Some rain did not dampen our second day with visits to Clos de Luce, Chenonceau, and Chambord. The gardens at Villandry were a special treat! Two days gave us time to really see the Loire area without being rushed- Dominique was an excellent guide. Highly recommend this trip!

A bit of confusion at the office in Paris, but this was mainly due to people pushing to get into a line they were not supposed to be in! We joined the main tour group on another bus after lunch then everything went smoothly.
The 2 day tour was fantastic. We originally thought to drive a hire car to see Chateau, but so glad we did this tour as we visited the Chateaus we wanted plus more and drove through many beautiful postcard perfect villages, where we also had time to walk through some, which we probably would have missed if we had to concentrate on driving. We also met some lovely people on the tour, except 1 couple who always strolled in late, no matter what the guide implied at each stop, which really understandably irritated the guide.
On the first day, we were free to wander and lunch after our tour in Amboise which was exquisite. The overnight accommodation at the Mecure Hotel was great, however the evening meal was average, yet breakfast the next morning was excellent. The lunch on the 2nd day on our way to Tours was very average and the waitress was very impatient with us, which was disappointing.
    Highly recommend this tour!

I'm glad I did this. We were able to see much more in two days then we ever would have been able to see on our own in a week. They run like clockwork. With that said there were times we felt rushed and times we could not really understand what the guide was saying, but overall it was still a very good experience.
