Know More about this tour

Choose a 10am or 3pm departure, and meet your guide and small group of no more than 12 at Zurich’s Main Station for your 2-hour tour.

Delve into downtown Zurich, and stroll along its best-known street, the Bahnhofstrasse. This traffic-free, 19th-century boulevard was designed by Arnold Bürkli along the Parisian model, and is one of Europe’s most exclusive shopping streets.

Pass the upscale stores, and head into Zurich Old Town to the Lindenhof, one of the city’s prettiest squares. Absorb the panoramic views from here over the River Limmat and 12th-century Grossmünster.

Walk by the riverside and visit the 11th-century Fraumünster church (own expense), viewing its stained-glass windows by Marc Chagall. See St. Peter's Church, adorned with Europe’s largest clock face, and walk by Lake Zurich, admiring the views.

Learn the history of the landmarks, and hear about one of Zurich’s most colorful sons, a pivotal figure in Switzerland’s 16th-century Protestant Reformation.

Visit the Cabaret Voltaire café-gallery (own expense) where the Dadaist art movement began in 1916, and see the street where Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin lived before traveling to his homeland to lead the 1917 uprising.

After two hours, your tour concludes in Zurich center when your guide departs.

  • This was a great tour. We were staying in Lucerne and wanted to Visit Zurich for the day. We took the train to Zurich which was a breeze and meet our guide inside the train station in Zurich. Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. He walked us around to all the important sites and filled us in on all of the historical information regarding the sites. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Zurich or even one of the nearby cities!

  • Knowledge guide, good to do early in your stay in Zurich to get your bearings.

  • Our guide, Maria did a great job. This is a good way get to know Zurich when you first get there. You can revisit places later, I would recommend to anyone who has not been to Zurich as this get you acquainted with the key points of interest in the altstadt. We did have a quick rain shower on the walk, be sure to bring an umbrella.

  • Maria did a great job! She knows the city very well and was chatty and happy to share information on any questions asked. Our group was small and everyone had a great time. She ended the tour with some chocolate!! Definitely worth it! The train station where you meet is very, very large! You actually meet right under the art work of the Angel in the station.

  • Great experience! I have learnt many interesting facts about Zurich and Switzerland. I was alone and still tour continued and instead of 2 hours we spent 4 in the city! :

    Thank you very much!

  • We could have done this tour on our own with a map. The guide, while he was very pleasant, was not very informative.

  • Very well informed guide. Most interesting tour.

  • Fantastic, Wini( vini) was amazing with his knowledge and passion of Swiss history and culture
Our group was only 4 and very personal. As no one had commitments, our walk extended to 4 hours, Wini willing to show us more than the tour actually offered. Highly recommended.

  • We really enjoyed the Zurich city walking tour. She was a very good knowledge about the city as well as the history.

  • This was an excellent your of Zurich 15.08. Our guide's name was Maria and she was knowledgeable about the city's history and very entertaining in how she delivered the information. We had done a preliminary walking tour on our own and she complemented it by showing us more and taking us in a different part of the town. Would definitely recommend this tour. Worthwhile the time to see and hear stories you would not otherwise know. The meeting point was easy to find. Thanks to Maria!!
