  • My sister and I booked a tour via Viator from15th September 2017 to 17th for a 3day Edinburgh trip. It was supposed to start from London Euston at 6 am. Let me start by saying that the tour did not meet the promise made on the website. It was a disaster. The trip manager Emi was inefficient and unprofessional. We arrived on time at Euston at the meeting point but could not make out whom to contact. There were several people standing around but there was no clear indication of who the tour manager was. The tour manager should hold a placard or some visible thing to make us understand she represented tbe tour. Nothing like that. After asking several people we could spot her. It seemed she was too busy to answer our question. It is true that there was a problem with the train we were suppose to take. It was cancelled and we had to take another train from Kings cross. But on these confusing days the tour manager should rise to the occasion and she needs to be the source of confidence to the travellers. But anything we asked Emi the answer was" I am not sure ".

In kings cross when we boarded the train she did not wait for the whole team to come and left us to find seats for ourselves. We ended up in different compartments and Emi didn't try to find us or talk to us.

This train too was terminated midway and we had to get down, change platform and take another train to Edinburgh. The train was over crowded and Emi never tried to look for her group. And we , standing for whole rest of the journey , could not find her. For this reason we could not give her the advance money for loch Ness and highland trip for next day.

On arrival in Edinburgh we boarded a coach. According to the Viator website, we should have got a guided city tour of Edinburgh that afternoon but we didn't get it.we were hurriedly dropped off to our guest house. And when we then tried to give Emi the money for loch ness tour, she refused and said it was our responsibility to give her money in time. We understand the problem with the train was beyond her control but it is also true that we had paid Viator a handsome money for this tour and her responsibility was more than ours. As a tour guide she was a total failure and failed completely to make us comfortable. She did not give her phone no by herself, she didn't tell us how to contact her in emergency and she never briefed us about the tour plan in daily basis. We had to contact her to find what we r going to do next, she never told us herself.

Here I will tell another curious thing the loch Ness tour was optional and cost was told GBP 44 in the website. But Emi told us we have to pay 50. When asking about the difference, She said the cost is 49 but as she is unable to give back 1 pound in change we have to pay 50! This is very unprofessional.

They didn't give us the promised city tour we paid for which makes a very unprofessional approach by the tour company. We feel we should get a refund. Viator should intervene in this issue. This tour was being handled by International Friends.
