4 of us took this 3 day tour of Beijing, It was an excellent tour with Anson, who was very informative and a pleasure to have as our guide. He made our trip to Beijing even more incredible than we could have imagined. it exceeded all expectations, we visited everything on the Itinerary and Anson made it fun and enjoyable, he made us all laugh along the way. Lucy our tour guide and not to forget our driver Yuan where excellent, first class and very professional. Our trip was over 3 days, where Lucy was very informative with great fluent English speaking. Taking the time to explain in detail the historical locations we visited. The meals at the authentic restaurant were also top class, and with the help from Lucy had us trying some wonderful dishes!! If you are thinking of a tour and like us are first time visitors to Beijing, these guys are definitely ones to choose. Many thanks again Lucy Jack & Yvonne

My mother and I took this tour the last week of May as part of a longer vacation that we were doing. Our tour guide Lucy was incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I think one of the best parts of a private tour is the extra flexibility, my mother has light sensitivity issues, and so we needed to stop fairly often to allow her to get her bearing since it was pretty hot and sunny the days that we were there. Lucy was very accommodating of our slightly slower pace as a result. She also provided us with suggestions of things that could do in the evening after we got back to our hotel. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

Lucy was our tour guide and we could not have asked for a better one. She spoke fluent English and was very accommodating to our needs. She was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Her choices for lunch were excellent and she made sure we tried a variety of foods. All of which were excellent. We booked an additional evening tour with her and were very glad we did. She made sure we had a little time between the day and night tours to rest. It was great to see Beijing at night. I would highly recommend Lucy to anyone who would like to book a private tour. Its the best way to see Beijing and Lucy is the best.

Our tour guide was Lucy. She spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable on China’s history. She was very considerate of my need to rest for 10 minutes from time to time. She chose the best restaurants for our meals and a great acrobatic show. We learned so much about China from her and would highly recommend Lucy as a personal tour guide.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour with Lucy who showed us key highlights of Beijing. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small children who are 7- and 9-years old) and were also traveling with our elderly parents. Lucy managed our large group with ease, consistently offering patience, knowledge and flexibility where needed throughout. Our children speak Chinese well and she conversed with them entirely in that language while navigating the rest of the party who are English only speakers. While all of our tours were informative and well-organized, where Lucy really stood out was helping us at the train station. We thought we had 6 tickets booked for a trip to Xian but realized upon reaching the station that we had only booked 2! In a matter of minutes, Lucy expertly navigated us around long lines and to the right people who could help us rectify our messy ticket situation in time to take our departing train on time. This wasn't the first time she helped like this. She has a wonderful ability to make make problems go away! We truly appreciated spending time with Lucy, loved the tours and made great memories in Beijing because of her help.

Tour with Becky was excellent. Her knowledge of the history of the various sites made the 3 days more fulfilling. Her recommendations and planning allowed for lots of flexibility to spend time where you wanted. Highly recommend to those looking to see the Beijing area

We are a family of 5, 2 well travelled adults and three young boys (6, 10 and 10), and spent 4 fabulous days with Lucy, no small feat with 3 active boys in tow. We travel a lot as a family and don’t normally do tours as we like the challenge of independent travel, so happy we took the plunge, Lucy absolutely made our time in Beijing. Our three boys throughly enjoyed all the information she shared, i was impressed how she gauged what they were interested in and tailored the stories/facts to keep them engaged. We are now back in Australia and I have heard them sharing the stories with their friends! We loved the restaurants we were taken to and that Lucy ordered, we probably didn’t fully appreciate how great this was till we were on our own in Harbin and realised how difficult it was to find great places to eat and order the best dishes. The most memorable restaurant was after our increble visit to the Great Wall, Lucy took us to a restaurant that looked like a greenhouse from the outside, we had an incredible meal and were the only foreigners in a massive restaurant/greenhouse. On our last day we were getting the sleeper train to Harbin, Lucy stayed with us and made sure we got to the correct platform, we were so appreciative as the train station was massive with no signage in English. She even took us to the station the day before to pickup our tickets. We visited so many great places in Beijing, and Lucy made the whole experience easy, we loved her relaxed easy going style, nothing seemed to phase her, not even my 6 year olds constannt need for a toilet when there was never one insight! She always cheerfully offered to walk back and take him. As a parent it was great to not have to worry about purchasing tickets, ordering food, finding toilets or thinking about how to get to the next attraction this meant we could just enjoy seeing the incredible sights with the kids. Our highlights: Visiting the Great Wall Being taken to so many great restaurants Kung Fu and acrobatic shows. - must do’s 798 art district - for something different Drum Tower Forbidden city Unfortuantly I cant remember our drivers name but he was amazing as well, every morning he greeted us with a big smile and a high five for all the kids. Sites in Beijing are very large and you end up walking a lot, it was wonderful to be be dropped at one gate and be picked up at the gate on the other side, not needing to back track or find public transport allowed us to see more each day and meant happier kids as well! We highly recommend booking a private tour with Beijing discovery tours and ask for Lucy, the whole experience was incredible from the moment we were picked up and the airport to the drop off at Beijing train station 4 days later.
