Continue past Doune Castle, where Monty Python and the Holy Grail was filmed, and stop in the town of Callander for refreshments (own expense).

Enter the Scottish Highlands and enjoy the glorious vistas of Loch Luibnaig on route to Breadalbane, or the ‘High Ground of Scotland.' Climb to the heather-coated wilds of Rannoch Moor and through the breathtaking mountain scenery of Glencoe, scene of the infamous Massacre of Glencoe in 1692.

After time in Fort William for lunch (own expense), drive past Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, and into the Great Glen. Follow the A830 or ‘Road to the Isles’ and wend through the beautiful Five Sisters of Kintail mountains toward the Isle of Skye. Stop to visit (own expense) iconic Eilean Donan Castle, a much-photographed, water-lapped castle standing where three lochs meet.

Afterward, cross the bridge to Skye and trace the rugged coastline to its capital, Portree, for an early-evening drop-off at your accommodation. Tonight, explore this port town as you wish and enjoy dinner at any of its welcoming restaurants or pubs (own expense).

It was wet and windy but totally atmospheric... so Scotland.
We had lots of places to ourselves. Travelling in Scotland in the winter is not for the faint hearted but I feel we were able to get a true Scottish experience through the commentary of our fantastic guide ... who also provided Scottish music for our journey. Loved being in the countryside. The Isle of Skye is so beautiful.

Great tour which gave us a true Scottish experience of the highlands. Paul G, our guide was excellent, and he made the trip come alive for us. He packed in a lot of things to do in the three days and yet somehow kept it very relaxed and at the sensible pace. He is very articulate in his explanations and related well with a diverse group. Overall a great tour, great guide.

We had a really good experience in 3 day Scottish highlands tour. We visited all the places mentioned in itinerary. Our guide Billy was awesome...he stopped at all the photogenic points and gave ample time to click pictures and sight seeing. Trip was well planned and worth going.

This tour completely blew us away! Nick was a perfect guide. He had so much love for the country and area and told both historical stories, but also wove in legends and tales. We loved that he had his own personal soundtrack that fit different areas we were exploring and he made the whole tour incredibly person. He was friendly and helpful and really brought Scotland and Skye alive for us. We were able to pack in so many gorgeous places and my husband and I were both floored with the immensity of the beauty on Skye. I only wished we'd been able to see the Fairy Glens, but it's hard to pack so much into just one day on the island. We'd recommend this tour to anyone we knew. Absolutely worth every penny.

This tour exceeded our expectations! Our tour guide Ian was so accommodating, telling us tales and folklore of the highlands. Not to mention the history of the areas that we traveled. He even played music on the bus (a mixture of Scottish and other artists) which made the experience truly special! We saw so many sights within those few days! We stayed in the small town of Portree at the Tongadale Hotel. It was a lovely hotel in the middle of town with a restaurant and bar downstairs. It was perfect for our two night stay. We can't say enough about this tour and did not want it to end! We would definitely do it all over again!

  • 26-Aug-2019

After some issues with check in (the worst part of the trip), we had a FABULOUS tour with our guide Stefan!! It was magical and amazing. Skye is breathtakingly beautiful.

This was an amazing experience. Each site exceeded our expectations. James was a fantastic guide — unassuming, informative, fun! Highly recommend this tour.

  • 05-Aug-2019

The tour is well planned yet flexible. Jim is excellent: informative and witty. We covered a lot of ground in the Western Highlands and the Isle of Skye. Just what we wanted.

Andrew from Rabbie's provided us with a first-rate tour. Our day on Skye, in particular, gave me many inspiring and gorgeous views. Andrew and Rabbie's also deserve a shoutout for helping me in my proposal to my girlfriend - now my fiancee. Andrew kept me up to date about what was included and tips on where to propose. Because of this, Rabbie's is now golden to me and I'm glad I traveled with them.
