The Lakes District is a beautiful place to visit with green hills and valleys and large rock outcrops and waterfalls. Lots of hiking being done by many people of all ages but the roads are very narrow but other drivers are well aware of that fortunately. I stayed in Keswick overnight where there are heaps of places to stay and a great choice of places to eat. This area is very scenic and I strongly recommend a tour of at least 3 days as there is a fair amount of travel involved from Edinburgh.

We had an unforgettable trip tour to the lake district with Keith. The breathtaking landscapes were amazing, and the tour offered unique and exciting experiences. Keith's extensive knowledge added immense value to the journey; his captivating commentary on the history and culture of each destination enhanced our experience. Keith warm demeanor and exceptional service made the trip even more enjoyable. Also, the well-curated playlist perfectly matched the places we visited, creating a magical atmosphere! I highly recommend this tour for an incredible adventure filled with knowledge, beauty, and unforgettable moments. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Did this tour with my family and couldn't have asked for more. The trip was well planned with ample of stops and breaks for sightseeing. There were a few mini-hikes involved but all of them were optional (great for me because I like hiking but a bit stressful for the parents). The tour guide was clearly well equipped with immense knowledge of the place and went into sufficient amount of history of the places we visited without ever making it feel like a boring monologue. Overall, very pleased and would recommend to all who'd rather ditch the car and do the tour with a small group.

Phenomenal experience! Roger was a gracious and knowledgeable guide who we thoroughly enjoyed. The Lake District was nothing like what we expected to find in England (our first time there). The beauty, at time, brought tears to our eyes. We were also grateful for the office staff who had to deal with my anxieties when our train was canceled. We eventually got on a later train and Roger was waiting and ready for us in Penrith. We were so pleased with our experience we booked another Rabbie tour for a one day to Oxford and the Cotswolds (but that’s another review).

Explore the Lake District on a small group tour (max 16) for a personalized experience with Rabbie’s. The guide was knowledgeable and got to know the group so he could choose the places to take us suited to the members of the group. We learned about the natural and cultural history without feeling information overload and we were able to enjoy the spots we visited without feeling rushed. The small van got to where large coaches just couldn’t go. We highly recommend Rabbie’s.

I really like our tour guide, Jeff. The whole experience was enjoyable, relaxing, and we learned a lot of interesting Scottish fun facts and history. Also, I think the times we spent at each locations were just right. I would definitely choose rabbie’s again.

I just can't say enough how much we enjoyed our 3-Day Lake District explorer from Edinburgh with Rabbie's. Our trip was the first week of April. There were lambs and daffodils everywhere. We had mostly gorgeous weather, of course that helped make the trip. The tour is very well designed with so much variety packed into a 3-day trip and plenty of opportunity to get out of the van. There were only 6 people on our tour, enough for a nice sociable group but lots of room in the van, although a larger group would also be comfortable. The sights we saw were even better than I expected. Aira Force waterfall for one was beautiful and we got in a great walk there along beautiful trails. Our guide Sean was great. He is familiar with the area. He kept the tour on pace and provided us with a mix of some commentary, music, a bit of poetry to set the scene now and then, and some quiet times. He is a confident and skilled driver navigating safely up, down and around those lovely narrow Lake District roads. He made sure we experienced everything promised in the itinerary, plus a surprise or two. It is advisable to book restaurants ahead of time. I wanted to mention this since for me it didn't really stand out in all the info and reviews I had read. We did find places to eat but you will have more choices and no waiting in line (10 minutes the second evening). I think Rabbie's advises this somewhere in their info. Thanks Rabbie's and Sean for a wonderful trip and excellent value for our money!

I took 4 of Rabbie’s tours out of Edinburgh in the 2 weeks I was in the UK. I loved the smaller, more intimate groups. I appreciated not feeling like we were cattle being loaded and unloaded in 50-passenger massive buses. I enjoyed the freedom to eat wherever and whatever I wished. It was great only paying for the attractions that I was really interested in seeing. All 4 driver guides were exceptional! I can’t speak highly enough of the Rabbie’s staff. My positive experience started with the office staff I had contact with via email when I was planning my initial trip… then rebooking 3 times, courtesy of COVID-19. They were always very helpful and courteous. Customer service is of high importance to me and they excelled in that area. So, I was impressed even before my trip but then, when I actually finally got to take the tours, I was even more delighted with Rabbie’s. All 4 driver guides were exceptional! Keith and Mac made my multiple-day tours incredibly enjoyable and memorable. Doug(ie) and William kept the 1-day tours lively too. The vast knowledge of all 4 guides was mind blowing. The entertaining stories they regaled us with between sightseeing spots made the time in the van go by very quickly. This was my first trip traveling solo and picking Rabbie’s, for me, was the best way to experience the beauty and culture (and humor) that Scotland and northern England have to offer. I can’t wait to go back and see more sights with Rabbie’s.

This was my first time in England, and on a group tour, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The husband and I took off on the train from London, up to Penrith, and were quickly picked up by our driver. We had four others on the tour with us. We had the most fantastic experience. Rabbies booked our stay in a BnB in Keswick, and having someone else to do the driving and planning was extremely helpful. We felt like we were able to enjoy the best parts of vacationing, without any of the headaches. Our guide and driver was wonderful. We learned so much about the beautiful area, and its history. Our tour had a bit of everything, too, some hiking, shopping, eating, and relaxing, as we took in the gorgeous setting. I feel so lucky we found Rabbies, and will definitely be booking another trip up to Scotland as soon as we can!

A fabulous trip. Travelling with Rabbies allows you to see so much more and to visit places you didn't know about and to learn about the history of the area whilst you're there. Ian was a very good help to me as I have mobility challenges and he was happy to lend an arm. I think this is my fourth Rabbies tour and it won't be my last!
