Itinerary:

Day 1 - Cape City Highlights Private Tour

Start your private tour with a pickup from your Cape Town hotel, and then travel into the center of town by air-conditioned minivan. Take the cable car ride up Table Mountain, the citys famous UNESCO World Heritage site. The ride is at your own expense and subject to good weather conditions, but once at the top the views are magnificent. Alternatively, travel up Signal Hill by minivan for a classic Cape Town vantage point for city and beach vistas. Return to town for a walking tour around Cape Town itself. Wander past Companys Gardens, stroll to the Castle of Good Hope and walk along Grand Parade and past several sites linked to the citys tenuous history with slavery such as Slave Lodge and the Old Slave Tree and District Six Museum. Greenmarket Square and St Georges Mall are also on your route. Return to your minivan for a visit to the colorful neighborhood of Bo-Kaap. Stop for photos by the candy-colored houses, and hear how the district has changed from a shanty town to a vibrant city neighborhood with a melting pot of cultures. Enjoy a break at the V&A Waterfront for lunch and perhaps a boat ride around the harbor (both at your own expense). After enjoying some free time, meet back up with your guide, and then relax on a scenic drive alongside the Atlantic coastline. Watch the waves crashing against the jagged shores, and pass through swanky neighborhoods such as Clifton and Camps Bay. Your tour then finishes with a drop-off at your Cape Town hotel.

Day 2 - Cape Peninsula and Constantia Winelands Private Tour

Begin your day trip by climbing aboard an air-conditioned minivan in Cape Town. Your private guide for the day takes you along one of the countrys most scenic coastal drives Chapmans Peak Road which you can enjoy from the comfort of the passenger seat. The road winds along a mountain, ocean waves pummeling the rocks below. The first stop on your tour is the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. This expansive park is within the borders of Table Mountain National Park, and youll get out to explore on foot with your guide for a bit. Walk to the Cape Point lighthouse where you can see the ocean beating on the rocks again. The next stop is Cape Point, where youll walk with your guide through the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Be on the lookout for wildlife, including antelope, ostrich and lizards. Back in the minivan, begin to make your way toward the Constantia Valley wine region, passing beautiful beach towns like Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek, and historic towns like Simons Town and St James. Make a brief detour at Boulders Beach, where a colony of African penguins makes their home. Head into the penguin reserve (own expense) to walk down the boardwalk all the way to the beach, or simply stroll the public walkways near the reserve to see the amusing birds. The final stop of the day is at Groot Constantia winery, established in 1685. See the historic estate during a guided group tour, followed by a wine tasting session. Return by minivan to your Cape Town hotel with your guide.

Day 3Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Paarl Wine-Tasting Private Tour

Sample some of South Africas best-known wines in the lands where theyre grown during a private tour of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. From Cape Town youll head for the Cape Winelands region to visit four different wineries. During each stop, learn about how the combination of climate, soil and grape varietals create the unique wines for which South Africa is known throughout the world. Taste wines, fortified wines, cheese and chocolate on this decadent private tour. Begin your day with pickup at your Cape Town hotel in a luxury minivan and head straight for the famous Stellenbosch wine region. The climate is akin to the Mediterranean, a longtime wine-growing region. The first stop on your tour is the Muratie wine estate, a local favorite with lots of rustic charm, where youll start with something sweet. At Muratie, sample dessert wine and locally-made chocolate. Next, head for the nearby Paarl wine region to visit the Fairview Wine Estate for a cellar tour and wine tasting session. Along with the winerys well-known white wines, nibble on delicious cheeses. Stop for lunch in Franschhoek, a short five miles (eight kilometers) away, internationally famous for its gourmet dining options. Get recommendations from your private guide for where to get something to eat (own expense) from the many restaurants and cafes in the pretty town. After your lunch break, visit the Haute Cabriere or Dieu Donne wine estate outside Franschhoek in the Helderberg Mountains. Take in the splendid views from the winery while you taste their wines and learn how growing wine grapes in the mountains differs from growing them down in the valley. The final winery visit of the day is at Boschendal, one of the oldest wine estates in the country, dating back to the 1600s. From the outside, the winery may look traditional and old-fashioned, but when you see the cellars youll notice they are state-of-the-art. Enjoy your tours last wine tasting among the barrels in the cellar before getting back in the minivan for the relaxing drive back to your hotel in Cape Town. Arrive in the early evening.
