Day 1: Dublin - Connemara - Galway

You begin this amazing experience departingt Dublin and going to the West of Ireland and tour beautiful Connemara. On the way across the midlands of Ireland, there will be a comfort stop for refreshments before arriving in the enchanting village of Cong. Famed by John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara in the film Quiet Man, the village is home to Ashford castle, a regular haunt of the rich and famous and a wedding venue for a host of international stars. There is time to visit Cong Abbey before continuing the journey through the wilderness of Connemara. Enjoy the unique landscape, beautiful lakes, valleys and mountain scenery. Gaelic speaking, this area still maintains many of Ireland's traditional ways, however it was deserted during the dreadful famine times of 1845 to 1851. Arriving in Galway mid afternoon  ensures getting the most out of this cultural city. There is plenty of time to explore the Spanish Arch and ramble around colorful shop street with its many street performers, seafood eateries, and quaint Irish bars with wonderful musicians. A great night of real Irish entertainment is always a highlight of Ireland's traditional music capital.

Day 2: Galway - Cliffs of Moher - Kerry

Today you will have the wild Atlantic ocean by your side with the drive down the West coast. See beautiful beaches, golden sand, maybe even a few dolphins and whales. Explore the lunar landscape of the Burren a lunar landscape dating back 300 million years with unique features like underground rivers and waterfalls. We visit Cliffs of Moher, the most popular natural tourist destination in Ireland and most spectacular cliffs in Europe. Rising over 700 ft in height, these cliffs are home to some of natures most majestic birds including puffins, gannets and many more. You'll cross the River Shannon in County Limerick, the setting for Frank McCourt's blockbuster book, Angela's Ashes. The last stop is the beautiful heritage town of Adare with its fabulous thatched cottages, renowned for being regularly voted Ireland's tidiest town. The night is spent in the beautiful kingdom of Kerry.

Day 3: Kerry - Blarney - Dublin

The day begins by crossing the Cork and Kerry mountains and heading for the world renowned Blarney Castle. There is plenty of time spent visiting the Castle, and kissing the Blarney Stone endowing you with the gift of eloquent speech (gift of the gab) for 7 years. Surrounded by beautiful and majestic gardens, you may also take time to visit the Blarney Woolen mills, the world's largest Irish shop. After lunch there will be a leisurely drive through Golden Vale, Ireland's finest agricultural land with its rolling fields and pastures fresh. You will visit the beautiful Rock of Castle Dunamase steeped in Irish legend and folklore, home of Aoife wife of Strongbow. • This was my first time to Ireland. We decided to do the tour instead of renting a car. I have to say we made the right decision. From the moment we got on the bus I knew this was going to be a fantastic 3 days. Our tour guide Tiernan was the best!! We chose the backpacker choice and had no complaints. There were 4 of us and we were able to stay together in our own room in all hostels. I was traveling with my 72 year old mom and two adult daughters and the accommodations were spot on. I would highly recommend this tour. We covered many miles km and learned so much about the history of all the areas we visited. Can't wait to do the 9 day tour next!!

The best part of the tour was our guide Tiernan!

  • Alex was the best tour guide! We had an amazing tour group and all bonded on the first day. The accommodations were nice, we had the B and B options. All the rooms were clean, the breakfast was hot and good, and the rooms were quiet. The hostels options are in the city center while the B and Bs are typically a 10-15 minute walk. It was not a big deal and many people in the group would walk down to dinner together. Our group choose to eat dinners together which was a fun way to get to know each other. We were a diverse group of young and wise, singles and couples, and internationals. There were no kids on our tour, but I would recommend this tour for families. We covered a lot in 3 days, but it was not exhausting or overwhelming. We had just the right amount of time at each stop. Alex made our tour special, you would be lucky to get him as your guide. I made new friends on this tour which was more than I ever expected.

  • This tour was great, its a lot of hustle and hurrying. So no relaxing on this trip unless you wanna sleep on the coach. When I booked it I was able to do the hostel option with my kids, but when I got there I was told my kids couldnt stay at the hostel. Thank goodness everything got fixed quickly.

  • My trip was beautiful but was tainted by 3 horrible girls on the trip. Rory, our guide was wonderful and I tried to make the best of it, but it was very challenging with these young, entitled, unhappy girls for 3 days. I could not get away from them as they were surrounding me and there was no where else to go in the van. Would never do a small tour again if I can avoid it due to this.

  • It was an okay trip. If I could do it over I would drive myself, that way I could spend as much or as little time at each location as I would have liked. The hostels were adequate, but nothing special. The driver was sometimes funny, but he was often on his mobile talking or texting while driving.
